ProHABITAT
Habitat Restoration and Conservation

About

ProHABITAT is IFHD’s flagship ecosystem restoration and conservation programme — dedicated to restoring balance between people and nature.

Launched in 2016, it works with local communities to protect, restore, and sustainably manage degraded landscapes — from coastal mangroves and forest corridors to urban water bodies and biodiversity parks. Through community-led conservation and green livelihood models, ProHABITAT transforms environmental restoration into a shared movement for resilience and coexistence.

Why ProHABITAT Matters?

By combining conservation science with community knowledge, ProHABITAT redefines environmental stewardship.

It turns local communities into guardians of their ecosystems — restoring mangroves that buffer coastlines, forests that secure water, and livelihoods that sustain families.
From rural hamlets to urban neighborhoods, ProHABITAT shows that coexistence isn’t a vision — it’s a practice.
